Our Story

We’re excited to share the unique story behind Bool Bear Lodge! The property owners, Anu and Tashia, hail from a beautiful small island in the Indian Ocean known as Sri Lanka, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean.” Sri Lanka is renowned for its lush tea plantations, dazzling gemstones, and a rich cultural heritage that spans centuries.

In Sri Lanka, the primary language spoken is Sinhala, and the word “Bool” in Sinhala translates to curly hair. Since childhood, Anu has affectionately been called “Bool” by his family because of his naturally curly hair. This charming nickname inspired the name of Bool Bear Lodge, reflecting both a personal connection and the warmth of their Sri Lankan roots.
